Chrissy Allen (pictured left) and Heather Reneau (pictured right) spent every summer together playing on the beach, going to camp and having sleepovers. For more than 30 years, Heather’s uncle and Chrissy’s father were very successful business partners. The young girls never expected that they would follow in the men’s footsteps.

Coincidentally, both women ended up settling down to raise their families in Central Florida. This exciting new business venture has rekindled their childhood bond. As a team, they bring the same sense of fun and energy to PLAYGROUND Magazine as if they were still those same eight-year-olds practicing gymnastics on the beach.

Raised on the Gulf Beaches of Florida and a graduate of the University of Miami, Heather Reneau brings her vision of creating a modern parenting magazine to life. Her previous experience as the Senior Graphic Designer at Ocean Drive Magazine, Art Director for several Harcourt and Macmillan/McGraw Hill publications, and Freelance Web Designer, she brings invaluable understanding of the publishing industry. However, it was her personal ventures (becoming a first-time mom, community volunteer, and board member of the MOMS Club) that inspired her to create a parenting magazine like no other.

As a Florida native and UCF graduate, Chrissy Allen brings a sense of hometown to PLAYGROUND Magazine. Chrissy has more than 12 years experience as an Event Planner for large corporations such as Home Depot and Morgan Stanley. She brings impressive publishing experience as a former account executive for the Orlando Business Journal. Chrissy’s local contacts have evolved the PLAYGROUND Magazine concept into a reality. As a mother of triplets, Chrissy jumped right into parenthood and wanted to create a resource for new and experienced parents in Central Florida.

Jenny’s passion and fortitude to achieve her childhood dream of working at a major theme park brought her to Central Florida in 2003. Born and raised in the Midwest, with a dual major in Journalism and Arts from the University of Missouri - Columbia, Jenny creates the written word with artistic style. She brings nearly a decade of media and marketing experience to the PLAYGROUND team from top companies such as SeaWorld and the American Red Cross. Her secret goal (shhh) is to prove that modern women who want to enjoy both a career and being a mom – can! Her unyielding optimism, passion for fun and zeal for parenting prove the perfect combination for Managing Editor of PLAYGROUND Magazine.
