1. SCARY SILHOUTTE CURTAINS
What you’ll need:
· White cotton-polyester fabric
· Dark-grey house paint
How to:
· Measure your window before purchasing fabric
· Outline a full creepy figure, or just arms or legs and fill in with paint. Since it is not a work of art, don’t worry about precision or perfection
· Let dry overnight (to avoid damaging your permanent curtains or shades)
· Hang over the curtain rod or tack to the wall
2. WITCH’S BROOM FAVORS
What you’ll need:
· Lunch size paper bags (2 per favor)
· Pretzel rods (1 per favor)
· Thin black licorice
· Candy
How to:
· Unfold one bag, and push out it’s base while folding in the left and right sides
· Using scissors, cut the bag into thin strips, stopping centimeters from the base
· Cut thin strips into the top inch of the second bag
· Open both bags, and place the second bag inside the shredded one; fill with candy
· Insert pretzel rod 1 inch into the bag
· Cinch the tops of both bags and secure with black licorice
FOOD & BEVERAGE RECIPES
1. MINI-PIZZA MUMMIES
Ingredients:
· English muffins
· Pizza sauce
· Black olives
· Scallions
· Cheese sticks
Instructions:
· Heat the over to 350 degrees
· For each mummy, spread a tablespoon of pizza sauce onto half of an English muffin
· Set olives in place for eyes and fill the center with scallions
· Lay strips of cheese (pulled-apart cheese stick) across the muffin for the mummy’s wrappings
· Bake for 10 minutes
2. TOOTHY TREATS
Ingredients:
· Apples (red and green)
· Slivered almonds
Instructions:
· Quarter and core an apple, and cut a wedge from the skin side of each quarter
· Press almonds in place for teeth
3. FORKED EYEBALLS
Ingredients:
· 12 doughnut holes
· Chocolate chips
· Tube of red decorator frosting
Instructions:
· Stick a chocolate chip with its point cut off into each doughnut hole
· Use a tube of red decorator frosting to add squiggly veins radiating out of the pupils
· Stick a fork in it to display!
** If you dare: You can coat the powdered donut holes with melted white chocolate chips (in 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, over low heat) by dunking the forked doughnut into the warm melted chocolate. Let them cool and harden in a mug (fork handle side down). This will make the application of the frosting less messy and more realistic.
4. GRAVEYARD PARFAITS
Ingredients:
· Chocolate Pudding
· Oreos
· Rounded Cookies
· White decorating gel
Instructions:
· Prepare chocolate pudding in glasses and cool for 15 minutes
· Once it is set, cover it with crushed Oreos to resemble soil
· Place the rounded cookie in like a tombstone
· Add a message with white decorating gel
5. WITCH’S BREW
Ingredients:
· Blood red POM Wonderful (8 oz)
· Orange soda (8 oz)
· Gummy spiders, frogs and worms
· Red heart-shaped runts
· Black licorice laces
Instructions
· Mix everything together!
· Add vodka for the adult version
6. PINA GHOULADA
Ingredients
· Pineapple juice (20 oz)
· Cream of coconut (1 can – 15 oz)
· ½ cup of heavy cream
· 1 cup of orange juice
· Rum (optional)
** Quick Fix: Use frozen or pre-made pina colada mix
Instructions:
· Whisk all ingredients together
· Place 2 ½ cups of ice in a blender, then add in 1 cup of drink mix
· Blend until smooth (add pineapple juice if mixture is too thick)
** For the Bloody Rim: Pour 3 tablespoons of corn syrup in a shallow bowl. Dip a toothpick into ¼ teaspoon of red food coloring and stir a small amount into the corn syrup to combine. Hold the glass by the stem to dip rim into the syrup mixture, and turn glass upright to let the mixture drip down both sides.
