No, we’re not talking about your five-year-old daughter gazing at Flynn or your own little prince staring at Luke SkyWalker. Nope, we’re talking about a unique event where these Disney-clad kids really do look … at the stars. Ditch the 8 o’clock bedtime drill, keep the kids up late this Friday for a nighttime adventure to the Dark Sky Festival.
The purpose of the festival at Harmony is to expose the general public to the marvels of astronomy and the importance of protecting dark skies - not just for astronomy purposes, but also for the values that darkness provides to area wildlife.
This family-friendly festival is held outdoors in low light conditions on the streets, sidewalks and park located in Harmony Town Square. Event is this Friday from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. and will include a sing along by Mr. Richard, animal presentations by Swamp Girl and an intro into astronomy. Check out the entire schedule on their site at www.darkskyfestival.com and enjoy sleeping in on Saturday!
