RioIf animators are to you what Tyra Banks is to the tween crowd, now’s your time to meet a real live one. Orlando’s very own John Hurst, animator and story artist from the new hit movie Rio will be on hand at the Plaza Cinema Café off South Orange on Saturday, April 16 to give you a sneak peek behind the scenes of the making of the movie.

Take a family walk on the wild side before the lights go down and the curtain goes up to play the RIO party game, try the new Angry Birds RIO edition, make some crafts and get a bird’s eye view of the Brazilian art of dance fighting, courtesy of Capoeira Orlando.

Remember, the early bird gets the worm, so show up 40 minutes prior to each show time to ask John your questions about the art of animation. If you want to know more about John the animator and John the family man, fly on over to our website and check out the Once Upon a Time article (page 40) featuring him in our Winter 2009 issue.

After the event, perch yourself on down and let’s all go to the movies! Show times are 1, 3:10, 5:20 and 7:30 p.m.

Here’s the coolest part – you can go for free! Just go on our Facebook page and tell us your favorite movie you like to watch with your kids. One winner will be picked at random on Thursday and will receive a family four pack. Remember, you can’t win if you don’t play. Good luck!
