Locks of Love

She may be just nine years old, but Kaitlynn already knows how lucky she is. She has her health, and she has her hair. Kaitlynn was just six when she realized that not all children are as lucky and started growing out her hair to donate to Locks of Love, and on Monday, March 14, she’s ready to cut it off! With the help of of KaDe Hair Designers, Kaitlynn is hosting a Locks for Love event to raise money and hair for children who have lost their hair due to disease.

Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. The prostheses help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.

Because it takes between six and 10 ponytails and $1,000 in donations to make just one hair prosthetic for a child, Kaitlynn hopes to inspire others to join her cause.
