Super Food Sleuths Nutrition Class

Editor’s Note: We sent our very own PLAYGROUND detective, Cyndi Campbell, and her son, Charlie, to check out Super Food Sleuths Nutrition Class and asked her to give us their report on the class. Here are our sleuth’s findings.

We stopped by the Super Food Sleuths Nutrition Class Sunday to check out the action. What a fabulous mix of activities for 4- to 7-year-old kids. Each class has a theme, and the first class was all about apples. The kids discovered how they grow, what they look like inside and out, what they do for your body, how they taste, how to juice them - everything you ever wanted to know and more about apples.

The instructors provided a great mix of interactive activities for the kids. The kids were inside and outside, in chairs and on the floor, dancing, juicing apples, doing their own taste tests of six kinds of apples and even assembling their own froggy apple snack. Outfitted with proper detective props including hats, magnifying glasses, even badges with their fingerprints and photos, the sleuths were encouraged to follow “clues” to learn more. The junior detectives got to bring home some yummy recipes to try at home. The class was a great experience for the kids. There are still four more weeks in the series, so feel free to call and add your little one to the mix; the place still has a few spots available. Visit www.nutrition-intuition.com to learn more.
