Zoo Boo Bash from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Trick or treat in the wildest neighborhood in town! It’s a safe, fun, and not-too-scary event for young and old alike. Kids are invited to bring goodie bags and wear costumes for trick or treat stations. If you forget your costume, face painting will be available. Take a haunted hayride, visit the Pumpkin Patch for a fun photo and learn about the myths and realities of some misunderstood animals. 3755 N.W. Hwy. 17-92, Sanford. October 30 and 31. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. “Boo” has never been uttered in a bouncier, bubblier, “not-so-scary” fashion than during Mickey’s “Boo-to-You” Halloween parade … and ghostly apparitions have never been more wistful than they are skittering along the rooftops of Main Street, U.S.A. When you put it together with a green and orange fireworks spectacular and Land-to-Land trick-or-treating throughout Magic Kingdom, you have a Halloween event like none other: Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. This event is not included in regular park admission. Tickets cost $64.95 (ages 10+) and $58.95 (ages 3-9). October 29, 31 and November 1.
Tomb Bash Reception from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Start off your scare-tastic weekend with an event sure to get your bones shaking! Enjoy live entertainment and monster munchies for only $15 per person and $5 per child. Guests can enjoy hot air balloon tethers for $20 per person. Halloween Carnival of Screams 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The City of Oviedo Recreation and Parks Department will host a family-friendly event that will include costume contests, carnival games, children’s activities, food, music and a haunted house. 1600 Lockwood Blvd., Oviedo. $5 with a non-perishable food item or $7 without. $3 for the haunted house
Family Fall Festival from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The festival will be filled with exciting events and activities for the entire family to enjoy including interactive inflatables, a children’s costume parade, old-fashioned hay rides, pumpkin patch in the park, art workshops by Crealde School of Art, cookie decorating by Young Chefs Academy, reptile petting zoo by Zoo Mom Science, swimming pool safety tips and entertainment on the main stage provided by The Outer Toons. 2525 Cady Way, Winter Park. Trick or Treat Safe Zone from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. A safe, fun Halloween adventure at the Orange County History Center with three floors of trick or treating, creepy crafts and a not-so-scary haunted maze. Children 12 and under welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult. 65 E. Central Blvd., Orlando. Free admission.
Kidz Fall Fest 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Bounce houses, face painting, hair painting, trunk or treat, carnival games, hay ride, horse rides, fire truck, paint ball, archery, raffle drawings, entertainment, food, costume parade, music and fun! Markham Woods Church, 1675 Dixon Rd., Longwood. Free admission.
11th Annual Haunted Halloween at Waterford Lakes Town Center from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Halloween-themed event for the whole family with trick-or-treating, costume contests, prizes and more. 413 N. Alafaya Trail, Orlando. Free admission.
The “Broom Zoom” Holiday 5K Family Fun Run from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. See how fast you can zoom to the finish line and work up an appetite for Halloween treats with our 5K Family Fun Run. Spooktacular from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Celebrate Halloween Eve with a costume parade, bobbing for apples, a pumpkin carving contest, trick or treating and more in Downtown Avalon Park. Free admission.
Halloween Howl from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Halloween Howl is a fun and safe daytime event for the whole family to enjoy. Please feel free to extend an invitation to any family and friends. Halloween at Cranes Roost Park from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Halloween at Cranes Roost is a community-oriented, door-to-door, trick-or-treat alternative for kids, sponsored by the City of Altamonte Springs. The Annual event features local business sponsoring booths handing out candy and trinkets to kids. There are costume contests for all ages, inflatable games and live entertainment. 150 Cranes Roost Blvd., Altamonte Springs. Free admission.
Trick or Treat in Downtown Sanford from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Children ages 12 and under can Trick or Treat with the Downtown merchants. There will also be carnival games, prizes and surprises. Costume contests by age groups start at 7 p.m. in Magnolia Square. Free admission.
Park Avenue Pet Costume Contest from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Large dog contest at 11 a.m. and small dog contest at 1 p.m. Pet Trick or Treat will include more than 30 Park Avenue merchants. Free admission.
Mall-wide Trick or Treating from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Calling all ghosts and goblins ages 12 and under, Seminole Towne Center is the place to be for a free mall-wide trick or treating event. The mall requests that costumes be worn only during event hours and masks are allowed only on children 12 years old and younger. Toy weapons are not permitted. Seminole Towne Center, 200 Towne Center Cir., Sanford. Free admission.
Oviedo’s Not So Scary Halloween Fall Fest from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The event is for pre-school and elementary school-aged children. There will be face painting, arts and crafts, interactive game booths, safety tips handouts and treats for the children. The Not So Scary Halloween Fall Fest 2010 event is being held in conjunction with the Oviedo Marketplace Merchant Association’s “Mall-o-Ween” Halloween Event for children will be held at participating businesses throughout the Oviedo Marketplace Mall on the same date. Colonial Lanes Kids Hollo-Bowl from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Kids Halloween Bowling Party will include music free prizes, games, snacks and candy with a spooky game room. Door prize for adults in costume. Halloween Hot Run & Festival from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Take in the splendor as beautiful hot air balloons ascend in the air for the Halloween Hot Run. Watch as the balloons chase after the magnificent “Purple People Eater” in a race for treats and prizes. The first of its kind in Florida, Reunion’s Halloween Hot Run will feature a target element and cyclist to “race” back to the finish line at Reunion Resort. Following the balloon race, guests will enjoy an air show from the Warbirds Adventure and Sky Dive Space Center, as well as participate in a fun filled festival with giveaways, photo ops and an array of activities from local partners: Gatorland, Revolution Off Road, The Indy Racing Experience, Boggy Creek Air Boats, Florida Eco Safari, Orlando Balloon Rides and even helicopter rides.
