It is one of those dirty-little secrets that we adults don’t tell the rugrats. While we pretend that Halloween is all about those cute costumed kiddos, secretly we all know that the holiday is WAY more fun for adults. Yes, your little eerie dearies love to dress up as their fave super heroes and heroines, and sure they love the sugar high, but let’s get real - adults are the ones who really kick up their heels on Halloween.
- First pick of the candy - to make sure it is “safe,” of course. Come on, unless your candy-crazed kids have an allergy, what are you really checking for when you “taste test” that perfectly sealed Snickers?
- Mommy likes to play dress up, too - No one bats an eye when they see your kids dressed in a fancy princess frock on a Tuesday in April, but this is the only time of year mommy can get away with dressing up like a sexy vixen without the neighbors talking.
- The Halloween punch has a kick - That green foamy concoction actually does help put you “in the mood” when it packs a little mommy-juice punch.
- It is all pretend, it is all pretend - You already know the scary stuff (like the animatronic Freddie at Party City) isn’t real.

Halloween rocks, first of all because that means it’s time for pumpkin everything, bagels, cream cheese, lattes, pie, beer, you name it! Second because it gives us adults a chance to be kids again in our own way. We get to dress up in the most outrageous costumes, dance like no ones watching, and eat a bunch of candy. This year the whole family is being vampires but the adults are going to have some bloody marys to go with the theme!

Halloween ROCKS because it gives you the chance to be your alter ego. Children get the chance to be someone else but adults can join in the fun. Also, with my two-year-old too young for most candy, I get first dibs and then we donate the rest. Plus, its the start to the holiday season!

Halloween is great because it is the one time all year you can step outside your reality and be someone else! Dressing up, make up, acting skills and props make any day fun and exciting :)

“Hiding” my kids’ candy on top of the fridge and them forgetting about it!!!! I don’t know how I’ve gotten away with but every single year, they forget.

Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday (yes it is a holiday for me) because I love the scary movies, I love getting scared by monsters…it’s humorous to me, it’s the time I can dress up sexy and be naughty without hearing anyone’s smart comments, I feel like the spirits are out more and it’s a wonderful feeling, but most importantly seeing my son’s happy face when he goes to all the halloween parties, dresses up and gets candy for free! :)

you get to dress up however you want OH yeah and so do the kids. Plus when you have a baby THEY can’t eat the candy so some one has to do it :) And my older kids have fun too. Plus my wife gets to take a break from school work and relax….

The main reason I love Halloween best is atmosphere. We finally get a chance to celebrate the spooky side of life! Bats, goblins, ghosts, vampires and all the traditional elements of Halloween that put us in the mood for a night of fear and laughter. On Halloween, you can be anything or anyone your heart desires and it’s all in good fun! The little kids get to go trick-or-treating, collecting huge sacks of sweets and the adults have full permission to throw a party and act as crazy as they like. What could be better? Besides, as awesome as Christmas is, Halloween ends up being alot cheaper, doesn’t it?

Halloween ROCKS for so many reasons…candy, costumes, fun decorations, parties, spooky stories, pumpkin carving - the list goes on and on. I love the feeling of the crisp fall air and all of the fun events in the area. Fall festivals begin, pumpkin patches, hay rides and all the cool things the theme parks put together to get everyone in the Halloween spirit. Kids and adults can be whomever they wish and its all for fun - doesn’t get any better than that!

Well it’s fun for adults more because you can purchase and decorate as many pumpkins as you want. No longer bound by your parents choice! First pick at the kids candy is fun too!
