It’s official, I have discovered the best BOGO deal of the summer and an amazing gem of a resort just on the outskirts of town. The Reunion Resort is nestled just off I-4 about five minutes from Walt Disney World, and it is offering a BOGO deal on rooms all summer! If saving boocoo bucks isn’t enough of a reason to pack your bags, let me give you a few more highlights so you can get your STAYcation on!

The Suite Life
Let’s face it, we all need to get a way, but sometimes the thought of traveling a few hours with the kids in tow is unappealing. That’s why I jumped at the opportunity to reconnect with my crew at the Reunion Resort and after a short 20-minute drive, we checked into our two-bedroom suite at the Grande (the main resort). Oh, and did I mention that the resort is cashless? So there’s no need to run to the ATM as tipping is not an option. However, you might want to make a pit stop at the Publix just outside the resort to stock up on your family’s favs, as each suite is complete with a full kitchen.
PLAYGROUND Tip #1: The resort is a Pepsi property, so if you’re addicted to Diet Coke like me, it’s b.y.o.b. The suites are extremely spacious, the beds are super comfortable, the bathrooms are larger than life and as an added convenience, the suites come equipped with a full-size washer and dryer!

I get asked all the time at PLAYGROUND which resort has the best pool for kids. Ding, ding, ding…we have a winner folks! Ok, I didn’t hold an official contest but trust me, this place will have you and your little one(s) singing OMG! The pool area is complete with water slides, a lazy river and a wacky interactive kids’ zone perfect for kids under 10. Still don’t believe me? Looking for a little more relaxation in the sun? I highly recommend lounging at the rooftop pool on the 11th floor of the Grande.

*Tennis A satellite radio stereo system keeps music bumpin’ on the outdoor courts, making tennis even more fun and exhilarating than usual. Plus you can practice with a machine or a partner.
*Spa I enjoyed a super-relaxing aromatherapy massage at the full-service spa, which is located in a serene house separate from the main resort buildings.
*Golf Reunion Resort is the only resort in the world with 54 holes on golf courses designed by legends Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Tom Watson. Want to improve your game? The resort has an acclaimed golf school too.
*Discovery Cove Dolphin Swim I had so much fun swimming with the dolphins. While my kids weren’t quite old enough to join me this time, it is an awesome experience for young guests and adults.
*Hot Air Balloon Ride What’s more memorable than a hot air balloon ride? Orlando Balloon Rides take off a short distance from the resort, so family members can head to the rooftop pool deck to watch you take flight.
PLAYGROUND Tip #3: If you plan on taking advantage of tennis, spa and golf offerings, also take advantage of the resort’s “Kids Crew” - a special club just for guests ages 4 to 10. Activities include scavenger hunts and nature hikes, so kids can spend the day supervised and having some fun and you can enjoy some much-deserved “me” time.

All in all, my fam and I had a spectacular staycation at the Reunion Resort. With so much to see and do on and around the property, we didn’t have a dull moment. The next time you feel the need to get away, I definitely recommend you load the kids up in the swagger wagon and head to Reunion Resort. It’s just 20 minutes away, but you’ll come home feeling like you just got back from another world.
