Reel Time for the Big Kids

Enzian Theatre offers summer movies for the older ones in your home.

Summer movie programs are great fun, but most are geared toward little tikes. Since no self-respecting “big kid” wants to see a little kid movie that is popular now, the Enzian Theatre’s family-friendly KidFest Summer Movie series is featuring movies for tweens and teens. From July 24 through July 31, the Enzian will run four classic films that are sure to leave your too-cool-for-cartoons kid in stitches. In addition to being crowd pleasers, the flicks are easy on the wallet with free weekday matinee screenings Monday - Thursday, and Friday - Sunday shows are just $5.

The Enzian Theatre’s family-friendly KidFest Summer Movie series includes:

  • The Freshman - note this is the 1925 black and white version (rated PG) July 24 at 12:30 p.m. and July 26 at 3:30 p.m.
  • The Wizard of Oz (rated G) July 25 at 12:30 p.m. and July 27 at 3 p.m.
  • The Golden Voyage of Sinbad (rated G) July 28 at 3 p.m. and Aug. 1 at 12:30 p.m.
  • Back to the Future (rated PG) July 29 at 3 p.m. and July 31 at 12:30 p.m.
